nogreatillusion asked: Hi Meaghan. I've been meaning to buy Coming and Crying, and I was planning to order it, but last night my boyfriend and I broke up and I don't feel like getting out of bed all day, except I think that I would if I could go pick up that book and bring it back home. My question is whether or not you know if it's still available at Mcnally Jackson because I don't know if I could take the subway ride home empty handed?
It is still there. I wish I could go pick it up and bring it to you, though that might be a little weird.
I think this is a good book to read at this moment, though, and might feel like a little book pilgrimage. Am I allowed to say that about a book I had a hand in? Book pilgrimages are important in times like these.
Also have you read alain de botton’s On Love? I feel like that one would be good, too. I mean, if you are into wallowing. It is Day 1. I think you get a free pass. Oh also that anthology Eugenides edited- My Mistress’ Sparrow is Dead? It’s this big ass book filled with the best (according to Eugenides) short stories abt you know what (love) and I see it as a kind of distillation of all of the BEST OF anthologies, leaving in only the stories that we really care about.
