At the risk of this seeming like an attack against dear Meaghano, (I last night sleepily tried to type “Mealissao” into my address bar, apparently planning to check both of their tumblrs at once), I think these notes make Ms. Moore seem mostly pompous and boring. And I’ve seen her read before and watched the woman in front of me cry as she did—maybe I wrote about that here once?—so I know how charming and affecting Moore can be on a stage. I think something was probably lost in transcription. But seriously, let’s agree to not let “being a terrorist” become edgy slang to indicate acting with commitment and unpredictability.
Ha! Well I love her unconditionally so I kind of loved this. But okay this is cruel:
-Signed the contract for Self-Help, her first collection written in her MFA program, at 26. The book was published when she was 28. Treisman thought this was young. Moore did not.
